Kuk Sool Won [Glasgow]

Kuk Sool Won [Glasgow] opened its doors in February 2007, and within its first three months was racking up success by scooping 25 out of a possible 32 medals at the Scottish Championships, this year (2008) being recognised as one of the top UK schools for tournament success.

It All Started Here

JKN Scott McLaughlin began training in Kuk Sool in 2001 under the tuition of SBN Don MacKenzie and PSBN Wullie Ennis, achieving his Black Belt in 2005. 



Still Competing

Since starting Kuk Sool, JKN Scott has competed at various competitions throughout the UK and Europe, and will be competing in the World Championships (2008).

 



Media Magnet

JKN Scott and his school have featured in various magazines and newspapers, and all of this, from a school that has only been open since February 2007.  Scott firmly believe this success is a direct reflection of the hard work and high standards of each and every student.

 



Quality Instruction

JKN Scott McLaughlin has been granted the operating rights for Kuk Sool Won in Glasgow by the World Kuk Sool Association.  Kuk Sool Won is the only martial arts system in the World to have a single international regulatory body directly led by the founding Grand Master, ensuring the very highest quality of instruction, to exacting and specific standards, across the globe.

JKN Scott believes in leading by example, and in doing so joins in with his classes when teaching, and that can mean every sweat inducing push up!

  2. Born in Irvine, and raised in Largs, Scott now lives in Paisley, with his wife, baby girl and three dogs.  Scott celebrates his birthday every 26th March, but we still have to guess for which year!

Scott McLaughlin is the current European Grand Champion for Kuk Sool Won, and has in recent years also held the Scottish and UK Grand Champion titles.

At a European level Scott is beyond equals in sparring, with Gold Medal wins every year from 2003 at Dutch, Scottish and European competitions.  Scott has secured over sixty competitive medals, and is a member of both the Scottish and UK demonstration teams for Kuk Sool Won.  In addition to his martial arts success, Scott is also qualified in Swedish body massage.
